The yellow sparrow, a relative of the creeper, is a fruit-bearing tree from the plum family. The yellow fruits are oval-elongated with narrow, pointed stones. The sweet pulp is suitable for fresh consumption, jam or brandy. In Austria it occurs regionally in different forms. There are differences in fruit size, stone looseness and ripening time.
